Every poker player who wants to play this game must first pay an Ante. This is a small sum, which is collected in the beginning of the game and put in the center of the table, where the pot is situated. After that, the cards are dealt to all the players at the Texas Holdem table. Each of them receives two downcards as their personal hand (holecards) and after that there is a round of betting. Betting proceeds in a clockwise order, starting from the left of the dealer. Every player decides how to play his hand or whether to play it at all. At this point every player in the hand has the choice to Call, Raise or Fold. If he decides to Call, it means that he is ready to match what has been bet in the pot by the other players at the table. If he chooses to Raise, it means that he must first match what has been bet by other players and after that he must add an additional sum to the pot. Betting proceeds in a clockwise order, starting from the left of the dealer. Every player decides how to play his hand or whether to play it at all.
The limit is usually determined by the set limit of the game. Another choice is to Fold, which means that the player is ready to drop out of the hand being played. Folding is usually a preferred choice when a player realizes that he has a losing hand, which could not beat the hands of his opponents. After the betting round another three boardcards are turned face-up simultaneously. After that another round of betting occurs.
Playing the flop is one of the most important parts of the Texas Holdem game. The next two boardcards are drawn in the middle of the table with a betting round after each. These boardcards are community cards and all Texas Holdem players in the game can use them to complete their hands. Each player may use any five-card combination from among the board and personal cards to form the best possible hand. A winner is the player who uses the best Texas Holdem tips and strategies during the game and who gets the highest five-card hand at the showdown.
